Questions about the quote
Is the price in this quote my final fee?
For the plans shown, yes. It’s our published flat fee plus HST, with no disbursements, and it’s the figure in your written estimate. A signing at home, in a hospital or in a care home adds a travel surcharge, and holding-company or trust structures are quoted in writing. You see either figure before anything is booked.
Who gets the closing-client price?
Anyone whose purchase, sale or refinance Barbarian Law® is closing, or closed in the last 6 months. Both powers of attorney come at no charge with your will, so a will with both powers of attorney is $750 + HST for one person and $1,200 + HST for a couple. Book within 6 months of the closing.
What is a business owner plan?
It’s for someone who owns shares in a private corporation. You get two wills, a primary will for assets that need probate and a secondary will for assets that usually don’t, such as shares in your private company, plus both powers of attorney. It’s $1,750 + HST for one person or $2,800 + HST for a couple, and it covers one private corporation. Holding-company and trust structures are quoted in writing.
Do we each need our own documents?
Yes. Each of you signs your own will and your own powers of attorney. The couple plan is six documents: two mirror wills, with matching terms, and four powers of attorney, signed at one appointment for $1,600 + HST.
Can you come to my home or a hospital?
Yes. A signing at home, in a hospital or in a care home carries a travel surcharge, and the amount is in your estimate before the appointment is booked.
